CFCOM™
The CFCOM™ offers a set of managed components that can be
used to easily access existing COM components and even ActiveX controls
from managed code and represents an ideal migration path for developers
moving to the Compact Framework. In addition, Visual C++ developers
can continue to write the performance-critical portions of their
applications in C++, without the headaches of creating "native
wrappers" and dealing with customer marshalling. Unlike many
products, CFCOM™ is designed for re-use - the classes may
be user as-is, or as a basis for strongly-typed wrapper classes.
Managed wrapper classes with source code for ADOCE, POOM, and Windows
Media Player are included as examples for developers.
CFCOM™ also installs and integrates seamlessly with Visual
Studio .NET 2003, and includes managed runtime assemblies, managed
designer assemblies, and native runtime components - with automatic
detection and deployment of the correct native component for the
target process, with any application that uses CFCOM™.
