Odyssey ViaXML featured on Microsoft
Mobile Developer Site
Odyssey Software has developed a product that enables Pocket PCs
to expose and call Web Services (including services that allow Pocket
PCs to connect directly with each other) called ViaXML. ViaXML enables
each Pocket PC to act like both a client and a server, even within
the same application! ViaXML is an implementation of a technology
called XMLRPC (XML Remote Procedure Call). XMLRPC is an easy-to-use
standard that enables applications to call remote procedures over
the Internet, and is the predecessor of SOAP (Simple Object Access
Protocol), which is the standard used in Microsoft .NET for providing
Web Services.
